1. Who we are
Vidpop is operated by Yousef Zaki, an individual developer ("Vidpop," "we," "us," or "our"). Our app is available on the Apple App Store and our website is at vidpop.app. For any privacy matters, contact us at support@vidpop.app.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information when you sign in with Apple (hashed or anonymized email, name if shared)
- App prompts, scripts, and inputs you enter to generate videos
- Support messages you send to us
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device identifiers, device model, OS version, and app version
- Crash logs and diagnostic data via Firebase Crashlytics
- App usage events (screens visited, features used, render completions) via Firebase Analytics
- IP address and approximate geographic region
2.3 Payment information
All payments are processed by Apple Inc. through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card or payment details. RevenueCat, our subscription management provider, receives anonymized purchase receipt data from Apple.
2.4 App Store metadata
When you search for an app inside Vidpop, we query publicly available Apple App Store data (app name, icon, and description) to pre-fill your project. We do not store this metadata beyond your active session unless it is part of a project you save.
3. Third-party service providers
To deliver its features, Vidpop works with carefully selected third-party service providers in the following categories. Each provider receives only the data necessary to perform their specific function and is bound by their own privacy terms.
- AI content generation: Providers that process your text inputs to generate scripts, voiceovers, visuals, and video.
- Cloud storage and delivery: Providers that securely store and serve your generated media files.
- Analytics and crash reporting: Providers that help us monitor app stability and diagnose technical issues using device and usage data.
- Subscription and payment management: Providers that handle purchase verification and subscription state on our behalf.
- App platform: Apple Inc., for app distribution, in-app purchases, and authentication, as governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your data to any third party, and we do not share your data beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the Service.
4. How we use your information
- To generate AI scripts, voiceovers, background images, and avatar videos on your behalf
- To deliver and store your generated videos securely
- To manage your subscription and credit balance
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve app stability
- To respond to your support requests
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not use your content or generated videos to train our own AI models, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to any third party.
5. Data retention
Generated videos are stored securely in the cloud and are accessible to you via the app. You may delete your generated content at any time from within the app. Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Crash logs and analytics data are retained for up to 90 days. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
6. Children's privacy (COPPA)
Vidpop is intended for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. 7. Your rights
7.1 European Economic Area / UK (GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection / Restriction: Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
- Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
Our lawful basis for processing is primarily performance of a contract (providing the Service) and legitimate interests (app stability and fraud prevention). To exercise your rights, email support@vidpop.app. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7.2 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). California residents may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, and may request deletion, by contacting support@vidpop.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS in transit, access controls on cloud storage, and signed URLs with expiration for video delivery. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you of any breach that affects your personal data as required by law.
9. International transfers
Vidpop operates from the United States. If you are located outside the U.S., your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries where our sub-processors operate. By using Vidpop, you consent to such transfers. Where required by law (e.g., for EEA-to-U.S. transfers), we rely on sub-processors who participate in approved transfer mechanisms such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required by law, notify you within the app or by email. Your continued use of Vidpop after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
