AI social media manager apps, ranked by how much of the week they handle

Updated

A social media manager does four jobs every week. They decide what to post, make the post, write the caption and put it up at a good time. Most tools sold as an "AI social media manager" do one or two of those and leave the rest to you. This page ranks five of them on a single question: when the week starts, how much is already done before you touch anything? Vidpop comes first on that test. The other four are described with the facts from their own websites, checked in September 2026.

The short answer

Ranked by how much of a normal week each tool finishes without you. Planning, design, captions and posting all count.

  • 1. Vidpop. An iPhone app. Autopilot plans three carousels a week around your business, designs them, writes the captions and posts them to Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn on schedule. Turn on "Ask me first" and nothing goes out until you approve it.
  • 2. Holo. A browser tool that reads your website, builds what it calls Brand DNA and drafts ads, social posts, emails and blog posts for you to approve. It publishes to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn and Pinterest.
  • 3. Predis.ai. Makes images, carousels and short videos from a prompt, with web, iPhone and Android apps. Auto Posting, where it drafts posts each day for you to review, is on the Rise and Enterprise+ plans, not on Core.
  • 4. Later. A scheduler with a visual planner and a small allowance of AI credits for ideas and captions. You supply the images and videos.
  • 5. Buffer. A scheduler with an AI Assistant that helps you brainstorm and rewrite posts. It publishes to 12 networks, and you bring the content.

What an AI manager should take off your plate

Scheduling tools solved the posting part years ago. The hard part for a small business owner is the blank page: what to say this week, and how to make it look good. That is why this ranking weighs planning and design above posting.

Here is the test we used for each tool. Could a busy owner open it on Monday, spend a few minutes, and have the week covered? Tools that wait for you to upload finished images score lower, even when their scheduling is excellent.

  • Planning. Does it decide the topics, based on what you sell and who you sell to?
  • Making. Does it design the post itself, or only hold a post you designed somewhere else?
  • Writing. Is there a caption with every post?
  • Posting. Does it publish for you, and can you check posts first if you want to?

Why Vidpop is first

Vidpop starts by learning your business. You give it your website or your App Store page, or you answer six short questions and add a few photos. From that it works out what you sell and who it is for, then plans the week.

Autopilot makes three carousels a week. Each one has 5 to 7 slides at 1080x1350, in one of eight formats such as tips, myth vs fact, steps, FAQ and before-and-after. Every post comes with a caption. Post for Me then publishes them to Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn on schedule. It also posts to TikTok, which takes video.

You stay in charge as much as you want. With "Ask me first" on, nothing goes out until you approve it. With it off, Autopilot posts at the scheduled time. Either way you can change a post up to 15 minutes before it goes out, re-make it, go back to the earlier version, edit the caption, or leave a note that steers next week.

When you need something extra, Create with AI turns a short description into a caption, an image post or a carousel. On the Pro plan you also get a UGC video ad each week, where an AI presenter delivers a script written for your business.

The other four, in brief

Holo is a web tool built around the same idea of a plan made for you. You paste your website, it builds a Brand DNA profile, and it drafts social posts, ads, emails and SEO blog posts. Starter includes 125 creations a month and one brand workspace; Scale includes 325 and three workspaces. Holo's pricing page says there is no free trial.

Predis.ai is strongest as a maker. It creates images, carousels and videos up to 30 seconds on its Core and Rise plans, and it runs in the browser and on iPhone and Android. Everything costs credits: 15 per image and 15 per carousel slide. Core has 1,300 credits a month and no Auto Posting.

Later and Buffer are schedulers first. Later's Starter plan covers one social set of 8 profiles and 30 posts per profile a month, with 5 AI credits, where one credit gives three ideas or one caption. Buffer charges per channel and has a free plan for three channels. Both expect you to arrive with the image or video already made.

How to test one in your first week

  1. 01Connect only the accounts you post to most. For most small businesses that is Instagram and a Facebook Page.
  2. 02Give the tool real information about your business: your website, your best product, the questions customers ask.
  3. 03Turn on approval for the first week so you see every post before it goes out. In Vidpop that is "Ask me first", and the first week waits for you anyway.
  4. 04Read the first three posts as a customer would. Would you stop scrolling for them?
  5. 05Leave feedback in the tool rather than fixing everything by hand. A note that steers next week saves more time than editing each post.
  6. 06At the end of the week, count the minutes you spent. That number is the real price comparison.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI social media manager app?
It is an app that does some or all of a social media manager's weekly work: planning topics, making posts, writing captions and publishing them. Vidpop does all four from an iPhone. Autopilot plans and designs three carousels a week, writes the captions and posts them to Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
Can an AI app post to Instagram for me automatically?
Yes. Vidpop's Post for Me publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok, right away or on a schedule. Instagram needs a Business or Creator account, and Facebook needs a Page, and LinkedIn posts to a company Page you manage. You connect each account through a secure sign-in, and Vidpop never sees your password.
Do I have to approve every post?
Only if you want to. In Vidpop, turn on "Ask me first" and nothing goes out until you approve it. Leave it off and Autopilot posts at the scheduled time. You can still change any post up to 15 minutes before it goes out, and your first week always waits for your approval.
How much does an AI social media manager cost?
Vidpop Starter is $8.99 a week or $29.99 a month with a 3-day free trial, and Pro is $16.99 a week or $59.99 a month, on the US App Store. For comparison, in September 2026 Holo's Starter was $29 a month billed monthly and Predis.ai Core was $32 a month billed monthly.
Does Vidpop work on Android or on a computer?
No. Vidpop is an iPhone app and needs iOS 17 or later. There is no Android app, no iPad-native app and no web version, so the whole job happens on your iPhone.
Can it write posts in languages other than English?
Vidpop's carousels and captions are written in English for now. UGC video ads on the Pro plan can be in Arabic, with seven Arabic voices in Saudi, Kuwaiti, Omani and Egyptian accents.
