Comparison
TopView alternative you can pay for by the week
Updated
Of everything compared on this site, TopView is the closest thing to a direct competitor — product URL, photo or prompt in, short-form marketing and UGC-style ads out, on web, iOS and Android, with a genuinely impressive party trick: paste a viral video and it analyzes the style, pacing and shot structure to rebuild it. Where it loses people is at the checkout. The headline $16/month is billed annually, which means $192 up front, the month-to-month rate for the same tier is $29, and no free plan is listed on their own pricing page. That is a lot of commitment to make before you have seen what it does with your product.
What is TopView?
TopView, from TOPVIEW PTE. LTD., calls itself an AI marketing video agent. You give it a product URL, a photo or a prompt, and it returns short-form marketing and UGC-style ads. It also produces micro-dramas and general text-to-video, and it has grown a much wider generative surface than an ad tool strictly needs: a multi-shot Canvas workspace, a Drama Studio, a 3D Shot Composer with virtual camera control, image generation and character swap.
Pricing, taken from the annual toggle on their own pricing page in August 2026: Pro is $16/month billed annually — $192 a year — with 960 credits a year and 4 concurrent tasks, and the month-to-month rate for the same tier is $29. Business is $44/month billed annually ($528 a year) with 3,000 credits a year and 8 concurrent tasks. Ultra is $50/month billed annually ($599.90 a year) with 500 credits a month that expire monthly and 12 concurrent tasks, against a $150 month-to-month rate. Team is $56 per seat per month billed annually, and Enterprise is custom. Their docs put credit costs at 5 credits per 15-second standard-quality video, 7.5 for high quality, and 10 for a 25-second standard video.
Platforms are a real strength: web plus native iOS and Android. The official iOS app is "Topview: Marketing Video Agent", English-only interface, updated 4 August 2026. On languages, they advertise 30+ for voiceover, captions and localized versions, and Arabic is named in the supported-language list on their pricing page. Avatar count is not published, and nothing is published about how Arabic captions are rendered on screen.
Why people look for a TopView alternative
- No free plan is listed on their own pricing page, and watermark-free export is a paid feature. Some third-party sites mention a free credit tier, but it does not appear on TopView's pricing page, so treat it as unconfirmed.
- The advertised price is an annual prepay. Pro is $16/month billed annually, which is $192 charged up front. Paying month to month for the same tier costs $29.
- Credits are annual too, on the entry plan. Pro's 960 credits a year is a yearly bucket, and at TopView's published 10 credits for a 25-second standard video that is roughly 96 short videos across twelve months.
- The step up is steep. Business is $44/month billed annually ($528/year), Ultra is $50/month billed annually ($599.90/year) against a $150 month-to-month rate, and Team is $56 per seat per month billed annually.
- Their official iOS app has 3.0 stars from 10 ratings (English-only interface, updated 4 August 2026). Ten ratings is far too small a sample to treat as a verdict on the app — but it is also not the validated mobile track record a larger number would give you. Separately, a higher-ranking App Store app called "TopView AI: Video Generator" belongs to an unrelated developer, so do not judge TopView by that listing either.
- Throughput is tiered. 4 concurrent tasks on Pro, 8 on Business, 12 on Ultra — so how fast you can work is a function of what you paid.
Vidpop vs TopView
The commitment gap is the whole argument of this page. TopView's attractive number — $16/month billed annually — is $192 charged at once, and the monthly alternative is $29 for the same tier. Vidpop's Starter plan is $7.49 a week on the US App Store as of 30 August 2026, billed through Apple like any other app subscription. That is not a claim that Vidpop is cheaper over a year. It is a claim about how much you have to spend before you know.
Where TopView is meaningfully ahead is the input. Feeding it a product URL, or a competitor's viral video to rebuild, is a different starting point from anything Vidpop offers. Vidpop's app flow does pull your icon, name and description automatically once you search the App Store inside it — but you still record your own screen and pick that recording from Photos, and the product flow needs one to four photos you took yourself.
Where Vidpop is ahead is what comes out the other end without further decisions: a 720 × 1280, 9:16, 30 fps MP4 of about 25 to 35 seconds, built from an 11-line script of 3 hook lines, 5 demo lines and 3 call-to-action lines, with captions transcribed from the rendered voiceover so they match the audio, a music bed chosen against your script, and a branded end card carrying your real App Store icon or your product's hero still.
That fixedness is also Vidpop's biggest liability. You cannot change the length, aspect ratio or resolution. Every reel has an AI presenter and there is no presenter-free mode. Presenters are stock — 10 in the English catalogue, 4 in the Arabic one — with no custom avatars and no control over clothing or pose. There is no trimming and no adding scenes, music cannot be uploaded, there is no publishing to any network, and Vidpop has zero App Store ratings against TopView's presence on three platforms.
| Vidpop | TopView | |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | Weekly from the App Store — Starter $7.49, Creator $22.49, Pro $45, checked 30 August 2026 | Pro $16/month billed annually ($192 up front); $29/month paying monthly |
| Free plan | None — a subscription is required to render | None listed on their pricing page; watermark-free export is paid |
| Platforms | iPhone only, iOS 17 or later | Web, native iOS and native Android |
| Official iOS app rating | No App Store ratings yet — released 11 June 2026 | 3.0 stars from 10 ratings — a 10-rating sample, not a verdict |
| Creative surface | Two flows: an app reel and a product reel, and nothing else | Canvas multi-shot workspace, Drama Studio, 3D Shot Composer, image generation, character swap |
| What it starts from | An App Store search plus a screen recording you make, or one to four product photos | A product URL, a photo or a prompt — and it can rebuild a reference video's style, pacing and shot structure |
| Arabic | Script, voiceover and captions, with letters joined and laid out right-to-left; 7 regional Arabic voices | Arabic is named in their supported-language list; 30+ languages for voiceover and captions. Nothing published about Arabic caption rendering |
| Parallel work | One reel at a time, about nine minutes each | 4 to 12 concurrent tasks depending on tier |
- Billed weekly or monthly through Apple, with no annual prepay to commit to before you have seen output.
- Two languages done properly rather than thirty listed. English and Arabic only, with Arabic covering script, voiceover and shaped right-to-left captions.
- Your own screen recording is the demo, composited inside a drawn iPhone frame with the presenter shrinking into a picture-in-picture rather than disappearing.
- Free, unlimited edit chat. Talking to it costs nothing; applying a change creates a new version and keeps the original reel, re-rendering only the stages that changed.
- One reel at a time, though. No concurrency, no batch variants, and about nine minutes per render.
About that 3.0-star rating — read it carefully
TopView's official iOS app, "Topview: Marketing Video Agent", sits at 3.0 stars from 10 ratings as of its 4 August 2026 update. It is a fair, checkable data point and it belongs on this page. It is also not a verdict, and treating it as one would be dishonest — ten ratings is a sample small enough that two or three unhappy people move the average by a full star, and 3.0 from ten means something entirely different from 3.0 from ten thousand.
Vidpop, for its part, has zero ratings, which is a weaker position than TopView's rather than a stronger one — you cannot beat a small sample with no sample. One thing genuinely worth watching, unrelated to quality: a higher-ranking App Store app called "TopView AI: Video Generator" belongs to an unrelated developer, so make sure you are evaluating the official listing.
Where TopView is stronger
Product URL in, video out — and reference-video recreation. Pasting a link, or handing it a viral clip to rebuild by analyzing its style, pacing and shot structure, is a materially lower-effort starting point than anything Vidpop offers. If you have a catalogue of product pages and no footage, stay with TopView; Vidpop will keep asking you for a screen recording or photos it does not have.
A far broader generative surface. Canvas for multi-shot work, Drama Studio, a 3D Shot Composer with virtual camera control, image generation and character swap. Vidpop has two flows and no canvas at all. Anyone whose work varies week to week should stay for the range.
Web, iOS and Android. TopView meets you on whatever you already use. Vidpop requires an iPhone on iOS 17 or later and offers no iPad app, no Android app and no web version, so anyone not on a modern iPhone should stay with TopView by default.
Parallel throughput that scales with the tier. 4 concurrent tasks on Pro, 8 on Business, 12 on Ultra. Vidpop renders one reel at a time and takes about nine minutes, so anybody producing at volume will hit that wall on day one.
Language breadth. 30+ languages for voiceover, captions and localized versions, with Arabic named among them. Vidpop supports two languages, full stop, so a multi-market rollout beyond English and Arabic is a TopView job.
Who should switch
Choose Vidpop if you want to find out whether AI-generated ads work for your product without prepaying a year to do it. It suits one person with an iPhone on iOS 17 or later, one app or one product, and a screen recording or a handful of photos already in the camera roll. It suits you if you would rather have a single finished 9:16 reel handed back in about nine minutes than a workspace with a canvas in it — and specifically if the ad has to be in Arabic with the letters on screen joined up correctly.
Stick with TopView if you need volume, breadth or a device Vidpop does not run on. Stay if you have a product catalogue and want ads generated from URLs rather than from footage you shoot, or if the reference-video recreation feature is the reason you are interested at all, because there is no substitute for it here. Stay if you need more than English and Arabic, if you want several renders running at once, or if you work from a desktop or an Android phone. And stay if the annual price is genuinely the cheaper deal for how much you will produce.
The two tools are not chasing the same buyer even though they make similar videos. TopView is sold as a marketing operation you commit to for a year; Vidpop is sold as one output you buy this week, in one shape, in one of two languages. If you already know you will still be making ads in twelve months, the annual price is there for a reason.
Frequently asked questions
- Does TopView have a free plan?
- No free plan is listed on TopView's own pricing page, and watermark-free export is a paid feature. Some third-party sites mention a free credit tier, but it is not on TopView's pricing page so it should be treated as unconfirmed. Vidpop also has no free rendering — a subscription is required before it will produce a reel.
- How much does TopView actually cost?
- TopView's Pro tier is $16 a month billed annually, which is $192 charged up front, and the same tier is $29 a month paying monthly. Business is $44 a month billed annually ($528 a year), Ultra is $50 a month billed annually ($599.90 a year) against a $150 monthly rate, and Team is $56 per seat per month billed annually — published pricing, August 2026.
- Is the TopView iPhone app any good?
- TopView's official iOS app, "Topview: Marketing Video Agent", is rated 3.0 stars from 10 ratings, updated 4 August 2026 with an English-only interface. Ten ratings is too small a sample to draw a conclusion from, and a separate, higher-ranking App Store app called "TopView AI: Video Generator" belongs to an unrelated developer, so check you are looking at the official listing.
- Does Vidpop have a web version?
- No. Vidpop is an iPhone-only app requiring iOS 17 or later — there is no web app, no iPad-native app and no Android app. Anyone who needs to work from a desktop or an Android phone should use TopView, which runs on web, iOS and Android.
- Can Vidpop make an ad from just a product URL?
- Not quite. For an app, Vidpop searches the App Store inside the app and pulls your icon, name and description automatically through Apple's public iTunes lookup — but you still supply your own screen recording from Photos. For a physical product, you provide a name, an optional description and one to four photos. TopView can start from a product URL, a photo or a prompt.
- Which is better for Arabic ads?
- TopView names Arabic in the supported-language list on its pricing page and advertises 30+ languages for voiceover and captions, but publishes nothing about how Arabic text is rendered on screen. Vidpop supports only English and Arabic, and its Arabic claim is specific: Modern Standard Arabic scripts, 7 regional voices covering Saudi, Kuwaiti, Omani and Egyptian accents, and captions with correct letter joining and right-to-left layout.
- Do Vidpop credits roll over to the next month?
- No. Vidpop's credits reset each billing cycle and do not carry forward, so anything unused at the end of a cycle is gone. If a render fails, the credits for it are refunded automatically. TopView's Pro tier issues credits annually rather than monthly, while its Ultra tier's 500 monthly credits expire monthly.
- How long does a Vidpop reel take to render?
- About nine minutes, which is the figure the app itself shows while it works. Vidpop renders one reel at a time with no concurrency, so producing several in a session is a sequential job — TopView allows 4 to 12 concurrent tasks depending on tier.
