TikTok ad maker apps, ranked by what actually comes out

Updated

Say this part first, because it decides whether this page is useful to you: Vidpop does not publish to TikTok. It exports a 9:16 file that you post to TikTok yourself, and TikTok publishing is not something it does today. If you came here looking for a tool that pushes ads straight into TikTok, skip to Creatify — it does that and Vidpop does not. What follows ranks these tools on the export itself, because resolution, aspect ratio, watermarks and length limits are what you actually live with after the novelty of generating a video wears off.

The short answer

Ranked on the export: what file you get, at what quality, with what attached, and whether the tool can get it onto TikTok for you.

  • 1. Creatify — the only one here that publishes ads directly into TikTok, plus Meta, YouTube, Snap and Amazon. Web only, watermark-free from $39/month.
  • 2. Vmake — cleanest export ladder: 1080p on Plus at $9.99/month, 2K and 4K on Pro. Native iPhone and Android apps. Free exports are watermarked and capped at 720p.
  • 3. HeyGen — 1080p on Creator, 4K on Pro, videos up to 30 minutes. Exports an avatar clip you still have to cut into an ad.
  • 4. TopView — short-form marketing video across web, iPhone and Android, with watermark-free export as a paid feature and no free plan on their own pricing page.
  • 5. Vidpop — hands back a finished, watermark-free 720 × 1280 vertical ad in about nine minutes. No 1080p, no 4K, no TikTok publishing. Its export is the most finished and the lowest-resolution here.

The three exports people conflate

Getting this distinction wrong is the most common way people buy the wrong subscription. A tool that generates beautiful raw clips is a bad purchase for someone with no editing time, and a tool that exports a finished ad is a poor fit for someone who wants control over every cut.

  • A raw clip. A generated video with no captions, no music and no end card. Fine if you have an editor and a style you want to control. HeyGen's output is essentially this.
  • A finished ad file. Captions burned in, music mixed, call to action on screen, ready to upload with nothing to add. Vidpop and Creatify both hand back this, at very different resolutions.
  • A published post. The tool puts the video on TikTok for you, from a connected account. Only Creatify does this among the tools here. Vidpop does not publish anywhere.

What each tool actually exports

Two rows carry most of the decision. The first row is binary and it is the reason Creatify tops this ranking: if publishing into TikTok from the tool is what you want, four of these five are immediately out and there is nothing to weigh up.

The second row is where Vidpop is weakest on paper. 720 × 1280 is below what every paid competitor here offers. TikTok will accept and display it, and on a phone screen at typical viewing distance the difference is subtle, but if you want a high-resolution master to reuse elsewhere, Vidpop cannot give you one and no setting will change that.

#5 Vidpop — last on export, first on finishing

Vidpop ranks bottom of this list on the criterion the page is ranked by, and it would rank near the top on a different one. What it exports is a complete ad: a 720 × 1280, 9:16, 30 fps H.264 MP4 with a presenter, an AI-written eleven-line script, an AI voiceover, captions transcribed from that voiceover, a licensed music bed and a branded end card, all already assembled. Nothing is left for you to add. It arrives through the iOS share sheet, so you save it to Photos and upload it to TikTok like any other video.

There is no watermark, which is worth noting given that three competitors here watermark their free output. But the constraints are hard: 720 × 1280 only, 9:16 only, about 25 to 35 seconds with no control over the length, one presenter always on screen, 15 music tracks with no uploads, English or Arabic and nothing else, and iPhone only on iOS 17 or later. It also has zero App Store ratings, having shipped on 11 June 2026.

If those constraints match the ad you were going to make anyway, the finishing is genuinely valuable. If any one of them does not, it is a bad fit and one of the four tools above will serve you better.

The rest of the ranking

Creatify wins this page on the publishing row alone, and it is a strong product beyond that: up to 50 ad variants from a single setup, a Competitor Ad Tracker and Performance Agent for seeing what rivals are running, 1,500+ AI actors, custom avatars from a photo or a text description on Pro, and multi-seat workspaces. Its free plan gives 10 credits a month and at 5 credits per 15 seconds that is exactly one 30-second watermarked ad; watermark-free work starts at $39/month on Starter. It is web only — no official mobile app exists, so this is desk work. Its Trustpilot score is 4.0 from 822 reviews.

Vmake has the most legible export ladder of anything here: free output is watermarked and capped at 720p, Plus at $9.99/month lifts you to 1080p with commercial use, and Pro at $29.99/month adds 2K and 4K plus access to additional video models. Native apps on iPhone (4.79 stars from 5,061 ratings) and Android make it the most flexible mobile option. Its published caption-language list covers seven languages and does not include Arabic.

HeyGen exports at the highest quality of anyone here for long content — 1080p on Creator at $29/month, 4K on Pro at $49/month, and videos up to 30 minutes or 60 on Business. Its free tier gives 3 watermarked videos a month. It ranks third rather than first because a TikTok ad is not what comes out; an avatar clip is, and the captions, music, product footage and end card are still yours to add. Disclosure: Vidpop renders its own presenter through HeyGen.

TopView produces short-form marketing and UGC-style video from a product URL, photo or prompt, across web, iPhone and Android, and has the most interesting single feature on this page — paste a reference video and it analyses the style, pacing and shot structure to rebuild it in your product's terms. Watermark-free export is a paid feature and there is no free plan on their own pricing page. Price it carefully: $16/month is billed annually at $192 up front, and the true monthly rate is $29.

How to get an ad onto TikTok when the tool cannot post it

  1. 01Generate in 9:16 from the start. Cropping a 16:9 video down to vertical afterwards throws away the sides of every frame and usually the composition with it.
  2. 02Export the highest resolution the tool allows. TikTok re-encodes what you upload, so you want headroom. This is the step where Vidpop's 720 × 1280 ceiling is a genuine limitation rather than a technicality.
  3. 03Save to Photos, not to a cloud link. Vidpop exports through the iOS share sheet; choose Save Video so the file lands in your camera roll where the TikTok app can reach it.
  4. 04Upload from the TikTok app rather than the desktop uploader if the file is on your phone, and let TikTok pull it directly from Photos.
  5. 05Do not add TikTok's own captions on top. If your captions are already burned in, a second set overlapping them looks careless. Vidpop burns captions in, so leave TikTok's auto-captions off.
  6. 06Write the on-platform caption separately. The burned-in captions are the script; the post caption is where the hook and any hashtags go.
  7. 07Test the first three seconds muted. Most feeds start silent, so if the opening does not work without sound the rest of the ad never gets seen.

How to pick

  • You want ads pushed straight into TikTok from the tool — Creatify. It is the only one here that does it.
  • You want a finished, watermark-free vertical ad with no editing step — Vidpop, as long as 720 × 1280 and roughly 30 seconds are acceptable.
  • You need 4K or 2K masters — Vmake Pro or HeyGen Pro. Vidpop cannot do it.
  • You are on Android — Vmake or TopView.
  • You want to test the output before paying anything — HeyGen, Creatify or Vmake all have free tiers, all watermarked. Vidpop has none.
  • You want to rebuild a competitor's viral format — TopView, for its reference-video recreation.
  • Instagram matters more to you than TikTok — see the Instagram Reels comparison, where the publishing picture is different.

Frequently asked questions

Can Vidpop post my ad to TikTok?
No. Vidpop exports a finished 9:16 MP4 through the iOS share sheet and you upload it to TikTok yourself. Vidpop does not publish to any network. If posting directly into TikTok from the tool matters, Creatify supports it and Vidpop does not.
What size should a TikTok ad be?
Vertical 9:16 is the format TikTok's feed is built around, which is why every tool on this page generates it. Vidpop outputs 720 × 1280, which is 9:16 and displays correctly, though it is lower resolution than the 1080p and 4K exports available from Vmake and HeyGen on their paid tiers.
Do these tools put a watermark on the video?
On free tiers, usually yes — Creatify, HeyGen and Vmake all watermark free output, and Vmake also caps it at 720p. Vidpop has no free output at all, since a subscription is required to render, but what it does export carries no watermark.
How long should a TikTok ad be?
Short enough that the hook and the call to action both survive a distracted viewer. Vidpop's reels run about 25 to 35 seconds, built from an eleven-line script split three ways into hook, demonstration and call to action, and the length is not adjustable. If you need a specific duration, a credit-based tool like Creatify or TopView gives you more control.
Which TikTok ad maker is cheapest?
Vmake's Plus plan at $9.99 a month is the cheapest paid option on this page, published pricing August 2026. Creatify, HeyGen and Vmake all offer free tiers with watermarked output if you only want to test. Vidpop starts at $7.49 a week for 5 credits on the US App Store, checked 30 August 2026, with no free rendering.
Can I make TikTok ads without appearing on camera?
Yes — every tool on this page uses an AI presenter or generated footage rather than you. In Vidpop's case a presenter is always in the reel and there is no option to remove them, so it solves the problem of not wanting to be on camera but not the problem of not wanting a face on screen at all.
Can I edit the ad after it is generated?
It depends on the tool. Vidpop has an edit chat where you can change the music, voice, presenter, end card, captions or script, and applying a change creates a new version while keeping the original — but you cannot trim a moment, add scenes or change the length. Tools that export a raw clip, like HeyGen, assume you will edit elsewhere.
Do I need a desktop to make a TikTok ad?
Not any more. Vidpop, Vmake, HeyGen and TopView all have native iPhone apps, and Vmake and TopView also ship Android apps. Creatify and Synthesia are the web-only exceptions, so anything you do with those two needs a desktop browser.
